Andrew

Andrew is a Hatha Yoga practitioner and a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with the Yoga Alliance. He completed his training with Dan Clement of Open Source Yoga . Andrew studied Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga with Janice DeFilippi who made many trips to Mysore, India, to study with the late guru Sri K. Pattabhi Jois and his grandson Sharath Rangaswamy.
Andrew has experience with many yoga styles. With his focus on alignment and flow, Andrew is mindful that each person is unique and brings different strengths to the practice. There is no emphasis of one style or school of Yoga over another. He teaches his students the best form and alignment for them and emphasizes safety in every posture. He particularly enjoys sharing the benefits of yoga with those new to the activity.
Andrew has been active in a wide variety of sports and activities for many years, both as a participant and volunteer. This experience allows him to adapt and adjust to the individual needs of each student. He is a certified Triathlon Coach and has a Black Belt in WTF Tae Kwon Do (Korean Karate). He is an International Technical Official - Triathlon and a Level 1 Softball Umpire.
Andrew has twice been awarded by the Office of the Governor General an Exemplary Service Medal recognizing dedication to preserving Canada’s public safety through long and outstanding service with the Canadian Coast Guard.
