Whitney

 

Whitney Wellington has been athletic since she was four years old from playing soccer to softball to volleyball and track and field. She was introduced to sports at a young age, seeing that she was practically born at the Ice Arena, having her active family being involved in numerous sports. Whitney has always had a passion for an active lifestyle and distinguished that she would obtain her degree in the health field. She attended the University of Utah on a Track and Field scholarship, where she received her Bachelor’s of Science in Exercise Sport Science with an emphasis in Fitness Leadership, as well as obtaining a minor in Business. Whitney recently completed the ACSM Health Fitness Specialist Certification and is one of FloMotion Studio's sought after Personal Trainers.

Being an athlete, Whitney is truly committed and devoted in providing you with a holistic approach towards a more active, fitter and healthier lifestyle. Her goal is not only to make individuals achieve their absolute health and wellness, but to enjoy their time while accomplishing it.

Whitney loves implementing new exercises, whether it is for cardio, strength training, or flexibility in order to allow a variety of options towards the client. Being a Track athlete, Whitney’s idol is Steve Prefontaine, an American middle and long-distance runner, who helped inspired the “running boom” in the 1970’s. She strongly believes in his quote:

“You have to wonder at times what you're doing out there. Over the years, I've given myself a thousand reasons to keep running, but it always comes back to where it started. It comes down to self-satisfaction and a sense of achievement.”

She wants all of her clients to come to their training sessions not only because they have that sense of guilt of losing those 10 lb gained after the holidays, but because it gives them a high. “One of the reasons I love being involved in an active lifestyle is because I feel as if it’s an escape from the real world, where I can just focus on me and nothing else. Don’t let the only exercise you get to be – jumping to conclusions, running down your friends, side-stepping responsibility, and pushing your luck! Stay happy, be healthy.
